AGCO requires nerve-blocked thoroughbreds to be added to a list
Source: AGCO (Ontario)
Ontario’s AGCO rules require thoroughbred horses whose nerves have been blocked to be placed on a specific list. The practice involves numbing nerves in a horse’s legs using alcohol, drugs or other methods.
The rule gives racing participants a listing requirement for horses that have undergone nerve blocking.
