AGCO allows eligible Dorchester Downs horses to race from 16 February

Ontario’s Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) will allow eligible horses from Dorchester Downs’ Barn 1 to race from 16 February 2026, subject to agreed biosecurity protocols. The commission said the decision followed consultations with provincial and private veterinary experts; horses in Barn 2 had already regained eligibility from 20 January.
The decision sets the conditions for the return of some horses to Ontario racing after strangles cases at the training farm.
