Regulation

Abratel filed two applications on 31 August and 1 September 2026 to participate as amicus curiae in Brazilian Supreme Court cases challenging the constitutionality of the betting law. The cases, ADIs 7.723 and 7.749, concern the law and related rules on betting advertising and marketing; both are assigned to Justice Luiz Fux.

The applications could give broadcasters a voice in court cases addressing rules that affect betting advertising and marketing.

The hearing ended without Justice Luiz Fux issuing a ruling or granting the requested interim suspension. No date was set to decide the merits, so the measure remains in force.
