Hotel De Druiventros in Berkel-Enschot has run its own casino since opening on 4 October 2025, with owner Rob Zoontjens positive on the first year. Zoontjens said margins are under pressure from the gambling tax, which rose to 37.8% in 2026 from 30.5% in 2024. He called for more appreciation of land-based casinos, which he said face stricter supervision than online providers.
