Briefing · By SectorWire desk ·

The PA agreed to acquire RAS Technology Holdings for about AU$49.8m in cash, with completion targeted for February 2027 subject to a shareholder vote and Federal Court approval. [1]

ACMA published guidance on a ban taking effect on 1 January 2027 on notable persons in wagering promotions; it said influencers with small followings could fall within the rules. ACMA also cautioned AFL players against promoting online gambling services it describes as illegal and fined Picklebet A$19,800 for accepting bets from a self-excluded customer. [2][3][4][5][6]

The ACT government introduced a bill that would require identity-verified player accounts, ban ATMs at venues with gaming machines and reduce machine numbers to 1,000 by 2045. The bill remains before the Assembly, with the first compulsory surrender round scheduled for 2029. [7]
