Zimbabwe raises gambling operator tax to 20% from 1 January 2026
Zimbabwe plans to raise the gross gambling revenue tax on bookmakers from 3% to 20% from 1 January 2026, Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube said when presenting the 2026 budget on 28 November. The report says the rate will be a final tax for licensed betting companies, lotteries and casino operators; tax on bettors’ winnings is also due to rise from 10% to 25%.
The tax changes will alter the stated tax burden for licensed operators and bettors in Zimbabwe.
