Virginia’s Senate approved a bill to permit online casino gaming, sending it to the House of Delegates for consideration. The revised proposal bars platforms from launching before July 2027 and requires the Virginia Lottery Board to draft rules by early 2027; the measure still needs agreement between the chambers and further approval.
Operators would face a proposed launch no earlier than July 2027 if the bill becomes law.

FanDuel said it plans to launch online casino and sports betting services in Alberta on 13 July 2026, subject to final regulatory approval. The company also announced a C$80,000 community contribution and an Alberta content deal with Light & Wonder, both subject to the relevant approvals; it extended its Canadian Football League sponsorship to Alberta.

Alberta set 13 July 2026 as the launch date for its regulated iGaming market after consultation with operators, the report says. Minister Dale Nally said operators asked the government to delay an earlier planned May start; FanDuel and the Alberta iGaming Corporation also discussed preparations for launch.
Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis has registered 35 operator sites at various approval stages ahead of the province’s planned 13 July online gambling launch, according to the report. Operators named include bet365, FanDuel, DraftKings, BetMGM, Caesars, BetRivers, theScore Bet and Betway; the report also names technology and content suppliers preparing to serve the market.
PowerPlay said it plans to enter Alberta ahead of the province’s 13 July regulated iGaming launch. The company said its entry remains subject to final regulatory approvals and completion of commercial onboarding requirements.
