UK strategy identifies gambling harm as a men’s health risk
The UK government’s first Men’s Health Strategy identifies gambling-related harm as a risk for men and sets out prevention, treatment and research measures. It says a statutory levy on gambling operators is expected to raise £100 million annually, allocated across prevention, treatment and research; a voluntary-sector grant is planned for April 2026.
The planned levy and support measures could affect operators’ funding obligations and services for people at risk of gambling harm.
