UK Gambling Commission phases in financial risk checks for high-spending customers
The UK Gambling Commission said it will introduce financial risk assessments in stages to identify customers facing significant financial difficulties. The first phase will cover the largest operators, with checks generally triggered by net deposits of at least £5,000 in 24 hours, a threshold exceeded by fewer than 0.5% of customers.
Operators will need to assess some high-spending customers while most customers are expected to remain outside the checks.
