Thailand’s DSI expands online gambling case to include money laundering

Enforcement & compliance

Thailand’s Department of Special Investigation has expanded an online gambling case linked to MP Chonnaput Naksua to include money-laundering and transnational crime offences, according to information from the inquiry. The Office of the Attorney General recommended adding six suspects; a warrant has been issued for one, while investigators gather evidence on the others. Formal charges against the MP are expected after the parliamentary session ends.

The expanded case increases legal scrutiny of the alleged gambling network’s financial links and additional suspects.
