Thai cyber police investigate allegations officers extorted gambling operators

Thailand’s Technology Crime Suppression Division chief Surapol Prembut said investigations were under way into three cases involving allegations of police misconduct linked to gambling website operators. One complaint concerns an alleged demand for a bribe to avert prosecution; another involves an officer accused of helping an operator access frozen funds. Prembut said the facts were still being established.
