People moves

Hungary’s finance and economy minister András Kármán confirmed Marcell Olajos’s appointment as chairman of state-owned gambling operator Szerencsejáték Zrt, following Zoltán Guller’s dismissal in June. Four board members were also removed and Marianna Gabriella Poltné Palásthy resigned; Poltné Palásthy criticised the changes as politically motivated, while Kármán said they aimed to reduce political influence and improve management transparency.

The leadership changes affect governance at Hungary’s state gambling operator as the government reviews its monopoly and revenue allocation.
