Spain’s health ministry reports lower adult gambling participation in 2024
Spain’s Ministry of Health reported that gambling participation among people aged 15 to 64 fell from 60.2% in 2018 to 53.8% in 2024. In-person participation declined from 59.5% to 52.9%, while online participation rose from 3.5% to 5.5%; the ministry’s figures include lotteries and quinielas in the in-person category.
Operators and regulators cannot distinguish private gambling trends from lottery participation in the ministry’s aggregated in-person figures.
