Sega Sammy Holdings reported profit attributable to parent-company owners of JPY10.9 billion for the six months to 30 September 2026, up 299% year on year. Gaming segment sales nearly doubled to JPY16.3 billion, while the segment’s loss widened after GAN and Stakelogic were included in the results.
Sega Sammy Holdings returned to profit attributable to owners of the parent in the six months ended 30 September 2026, reporting JPY10.9 billion, up 299% from a year earlier, after a JPY7 billion loss in the six-month period through March.
Group net sales rose 5.7% to JPY212.6bn in the six months to 30 September 2026, while operating income increased 42% to JPY14.3bn. Gaming segment sales nearly doubled year on year to JPY16.3bn, while the segment includes slot machine supplier Sega Sammy Creation and a 45% interest in Korean resort Paradise City. The gaming segment's loss widened as acquired businesses GAN and Stakelogic were included in the results.
Sega Sammy said gaming machine sales remained solid during the half-year, supported by sales growth for titles including Railroad RICHES and Super Burst. Casino drop at Paradise City reached a quarterly record in the second quarter, but its contribution to equity-method earnings fell year on year, partly because of costs associated with the new Grand Hyatt hotel's opening in March.
Sales of pachinko and pachislot products climbed 17.2% to JPY49.0 billion, while revenue in Entertainment Contents, which includes video games, dipped to JPY145.1 billion. New releases pushed performance in the Pachinko and Pachislot Machines segment above expectations, Sega Sammy said, with further titles due for installation. Regulatory approvals for pachislot machines remained low industry-wide.
Gaming machine plans include increasing sales of older and newer titles, especially in North America, as well as expanding leasing, winning customers and obtaining licences in additional regions, according to the company. As part of their turnaround efforts, GAN and Stakelogic intend to improve efficiency by lowering fixed costs and reorganising their businesses and structures. GAN plans to move further with its platform migration, while Stakelogic will continue adapting established gaming machine intellectual property for online use.
