SEC has not approved prediction market ETFs as filings expand
The Securities and Exchange Commission has not approved any ETFs related to prediction markets, according to a Cornerstone Research article. The report says the SEC stalled action on election-contract ETF proposals while examining their structure; filings have also proposed funds linked to other outcomes, including NHL teams. The SEC’s public comment period on novel ETFs was due to end at the close of August, with no guarantee of further action.
ETF issuers and operators face unresolved regulatory review across products tied to event contracts and futures.
