Sapar asks Italy to preserve gaming-machine managers in retail reform

Regulation

Sapar called on Italy’s government to retain domestic gaming-machine managers in the proposed retail gambling reform, after Deputy Finance Minister Maurizio Leo discussed the plans at an ADM event in Rome. Leo said the reform remained under government review and could be presented to a future Council of Ministers; Sapar said draft tender plans risked weakening small businesses and concentrating the market.

The reform’s treatment of machine managers could shape smaller operators’ position in Italy’s retail gambling market.
