S&P places Genting outlook at negative amid investment plans

Deals & M&A

S&P Global Ratings revised its outlook on Genting Group to negative, citing continuing and planned capital investment in New York and Singapore, according to a report. The agency said Genting’s 2026 capital expenditure could double from RM6 billion in 2025, while its debt could rise towards RM35 billion by 2028 from RM21 billion in 2024.

The negative outlook and projected investment and debt levels may affect Genting’s financing and investment decisions.
