S&P expects softer Asia-Pacific casino demand and rising costs over 12 months

Deals & M&A

S&P Global Ratings expects Asia-Pacific casino operators to face weaker demand and higher costs over the next 12 months, citing macroeconomic uncertainty, oil prices, regulatory controls and capital spending. It forecasts Macau gaming revenue growth of 5% to 7%, while regulatory requirements are expected to constrain casino revenue and margins in Australia and New Zealand.

Operators face pressure on earnings from softer demand, rising operating costs and planned capital expenditure.
