Rio Grande do Sul court accepts betting-manipulation charge against Ênio
A court in Rio Grande do Sul accepted prosecutors’ complaint against footballer Ênio over alleged sports betting manipulation and money laundering. Prosecutors allege that he deliberately received yellow cards in two 2025 Brazilian league matches and concealed more than R$1.9 million; the allegations have not been determined at trial. Chapecoense said a complaint is not a conviction and that it is monitoring the case.
The case concerns alleged manipulation of betting markets and the legal exposure of a player linked to two clubs.
