IGT signed a two-year extension with the Rhode Island Lottery to continue powering retail and mobile sports betting in Rhode Island, the company said. Its PlaySports technology will support the state’s operations through at least November 2028. IGT also said it is investing in the Sportsbook Rhode Island app.
The Rhode Island Lottery is seeking bids for a second online sportsbook permit in Rhode Island, with applications due by noon on 19 February. The selected platform is expected to begin operating on 1 November 2026, while the lottery’s existing platform, managed by IGT, is to continue.
