Responsible Wagering Australia urges national blacklist for illegal betting

Regulation

Responsible Wagering Australia has called for a national blacklist with powers to target offshore betting operators and related services, according to the report. The proposal would extend action beyond website blocking to apps, search engines, social media accounts and financial transactions; the report says unlicensed providers account for more than a third of the wagering market.

The proposal could widen enforcement measures affecting offshore betting operators and their payment channels.
