Resorts World New York City plans to open live table games in Queens on 28 April, moving beyond its slot-only operations. The casino will initially offer 200 tables, including blackjack, baccarat, roulette and craps; the company said it had hired 1,250 people and had 2,200 employees.
The opening starts live table gaming at the property and adds a new operating format for its staff and customers.

MGM Grand Detroit appointed Eric Sprague as vice-president of table games operations, moving him from MGM Springfield, where he was casino operations vice-president. The company said Sprague will oversee table games operations, including guest experience, performance, staff engagement and regulatory compliance.
A California court ruled that the Bureau of Gambling Control exceeded its authority with regulations targeting cardroom table games, according to the California Gaming Association. The association said the rules would have barred or restricted games operated by licensed cardrooms across the state.
New York’s three full casino licensees could generate up to $5.6 billion in annual gaming revenue, according to the report’s account of CBRE Institutional Research analysis. The analysis estimates first-year gross gaming revenue of $4.7 billion once the venues are fully operational and projects completion by 2031.
Genting said financing is in place for the Resorts World New York City expansion in New York, without disclosing the funding structure. The company put the total investment at $5.5bn, including $1.1bn already invested and $4.4bn in new capital expenditure, with the expanded property expected to be completed by 2029.
Ten Queens lawmakers urged New York Governor Kathy Hochul to intervene in a dispute over Resorts World New York City’s slot tax rate. The casino pays 56% of slot revenue, while the New York State Gaming Commission says a separate horse-racing funding obligation could add 16 percentage points, taking the combined rate to 72%; the additional payments would total about $150 million annually over 15 years.
