PokerStars said its existing Ontario platform would stop offering poker, casino and sports on 7 May 2026, ahead of a planned move to FanDuel. Accounts would remain accessible until 4 June, when remaining funds were to be returned by cheque; the new Ontario launch date was not confirmed in the report.
Ontario customers must withdraw or await return of balances before PokerStars transitions to FanDuel.

Flutter-owned FanDuel launched PokerStars on its platform, combining online poker liquidity in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Michigan. The company said the network will include tournaments and cash games, including Sunday Million events with a $500,000 guarantee; availability in Ontario is planned for later this year.
It was reported that Flutter announced Dan Taylor’s appointment as group chief executive. The gambling group operates brands including FanDuel, PokerStars, Betfair and Sky Betting.
Spain’s regulated online gambling market generated more than €1.7bn in gross revenue in 2025, reportedly 17% above the previous year. Online casino accounted for 52.5% of revenue and grew 22%, while operators spent €664m on marketing, including about €350m on promotions and bonuses. The report also says the European Commission is studying a proposed 3% levy and that UK remote gambling tax rose to 40%.
Asaf Noifeld has left his role as FanDuel casino managing director, reportedly. He first joined the PokerStars brand in 2014.
Asaf Noifeld said he is leaving his managing director of casino role at FanDuel after more than four years. In a LinkedIn post on 10 June, he said he would remain with the business for a few more months before departing later in the year.
