Planet Hollywood licenses brand for Tbilisi hotel and casino resort

Planet Hollywood Resorts International has signed a brand-licensing deal with Orbi Group, Block Group and Iconic Entertainment for a planned integrated resort in Tbilisi, Georgia. The project includes a 500-room Planet Hollywood Hotel & Casino and a 50,000-square-foot casino; the partners have not announced an opening date.

The agreement sets out a branded casino development in Georgia, while its opening timetable remains unannounced.

France's competition authority approves Banijay's Joa acquisition without conditions

France's competition authority has approved Banijay's planned acquisition of casino operator Joa without conditions. The review, the authority's first of a gambling transaction spanning online and land-based operations, focused mainly on poker and concluded that the deal was unlikely to restrict competition. The authority said its assessment did not account for possible future legalisation of online casino games.
