Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation selected Intralot Canada Ltd. as its lottery technology provider after a competitive procurement, OLG said. The replacement system is expected to be in place by 2029, and the supplier plans to expand its team to support implementation and ongoing operations.

Ontario’s AGCO lottery standards prohibit selling tickets to people under 18 or to specified groups, including people who appear intoxicated. The rules also restrict who may play or win prizes and require operators and sellers to monitor and prevent prohibited betting activities.

Ontario has agreed with MGE Niagara Entertainment to end its exclusive casino rights in the Niagara Region, reportedly announced on 18 August. MGE will continue operating Fallsview Casino Resort and Casino Niagara, while the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corp. plans to begin a procurement process later this year for potential new operators. Niagara Falls Mayor Jim Diodati welcomed the change; NDP MPP Wayne Gates called for the region to be involved in the process.
OLG said it expected to fill about 150 positions in Sault Ste Marie over three years. The operator expects the recruitment to increase its local staffing by 12%.
