NIGC remains without permanent chair for seventh month
The National Indian Gaming Commission has entered its seventh month without a permanent chair, according to reports. Sharon Avery left the acting role in January after her term expired; the commission’s chair must be nominated by the President and confirmed by the Senate.
The vacancy may delay tribal gaming business arrangements that require approval from the NIGC chair.
