New Zealand publishes online casino rules ahead of July licensing process

Regulation

New Zealand’s government published regulations for the Online Casino Gambling Act 2026, with the rules taking effect on 3 July, according to the report. They require player limits, identity checks and restrictions on advertising and payments; licensed operators will pay a quarterly levy of 3.5% of online gambling profits.

Prospective operators must assess the new compliance requirements and levy before competing for New Zealand licences.
