New York bill would block sports betting on college campuses
New York Senate Bill 10470, filed by Senator Andrew Gounardes and referred to the Racing, Gaming and Wagering Committee, would prohibit mobile sportsbooks from accepting bets placed on college campuses. If enacted, it would take effect immediately, with operators given until 1 August 2027 to install the required geolocation technology.
The proposal would require licensed mobile sportsbooks to prevent campus-based wagers and implement geofencing systems.
