New Jersey Republicans propose restoring Atlantic City planning powers
New Jersey Republican lawmakers Vince Polistina and Don Guardian said they would introduce a bill in January to extend state oversight of Atlantic City by ten years while returning some planning and zoning powers to the city. A separate proposal from John Burzichelli would extend the takeover by six years, through 2031.
The competing proposals would set different terms for state oversight and local control of Atlantic City’s planning and zoning.
