Nevada lawmakers back full deduction for gambling losses
Four Nevada members of Congress support legislation that would restore a 100% tax deduction for gambling losses, reversing a provision that capped the deduction at 90%. A review of campaign-finance filings cited in the report found that the lawmakers received gambling-industry contributions, while the American Gaming Association has also opposed the 90% limit.
Restoring the full gambling-loss deduction would reverse the cap, while lawmakers’ industry contributions draw attention to the proposal.
