Nevada Gaming Control Board sets casino guidance for penny shortages
The Nevada Gaming Control Board issued guidance to casino licensees on rounding payouts amid a penny shortage, according to the notice. Licensees may round up or down to the nearest five-cent increment but must notify patrons and cannot round only down. Any adjustment to gross gaming revenue requires supporting records; voluntary charitable donations after a payout are not deductible from that revenue.
Nevada casinos must follow the notice rules on payout rounding, customer disclosures and gross gaming revenue records.
