Nederlandse Loterij urges Dutch lawmakers against further gambling tax rises

Regulation

Nederlandse Loterij chief executive Arjan Blok urged Dutch lawmakers not to increase gambling taxes further, arguing that higher rates weaken legal operators and reduce funds for good causes. The report says the tax rate rose to 37.8% and that the lottery recorded 2025 revenue of €688.9m, down 5% year on year, and a €7.7m net loss.

The lottery warns that further tax increases could weaken legal operators and reduce funds for good causes.
