Nasdaq seeks SEC approval for prediction-style index options
Nasdaq has applied to the Securities and Exchange Commission for approval to offer binary options on the Nasdaq 100 and Nasdaq 100 micro index, according to the filing. The proposed contracts would be priced from $0.01 to $1 and would pay according to whether a specified outcome is true; the plans do not include sports or cultural event markets.
SEC approval could let Nasdaq offer binary contracts on its indexes, without entering sports or cultural event markets.
