Missouri attorney general files gambling charges over 12 machines in Greene County
Missouri Attorney General Catherine Hanaway said the state filed two felony counts of first-degree promoting gambling against Himanshu Patel, managing officer of Briarwood One Stop in Greene County. Authorities seized 12 gambling machines and more than $30,000 in cash, while a civil lawsuit seeks an injunction and a $1,000 penalty for each alleged violation.
The criminal charges and civil action signal enforcement risk for Missouri businesses offering the machines.
