Mexico’s Interior Ministry disputes claims over 20 casino licences

Regulation

Mexico’s Interior Ministry said casino licences cited in a report were issued following a court ruling, were linked to separate entities rather than directly assigned to Compañía Operadora Clíe, and had not been used to operate active casinos. Former Interior Ministry head Luisa María Alcalde said Clíe had received one licence in 2017 and that later permits carried restrictions; authorities also said some related licences and a website had been suspended.

The competing accounts affect the status and permitted use of casino licences in Mexico.
