Maybank sees Philippine casinos under pressure in second half of 2026
Maybank Investment Bank said Philippine land-based casinos could face pressure in the second half of 2026 from inflation, utility costs and weaker VIP demand. The bank cited a possible industry gross gaming revenue decline of up to 19%; PAGCOR chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco said GGR could fall to PHP320 billion or US$5.20 billion in 2026, from PHP396.14 billion in 2025.
The outlook signals continued cost and demand pressure for Philippine land-based casino operators.
