Lithuania approves mandatory player cards across gambling channels
Lithuania has approved amendments requiring personalised player cards for most gambling, according to the Gambling Control Authority. The cards will link to players’ national identity numbers and record deposits, winnings and losses; rollout is due through 2027 and 2028, with full implementation expected by 1 January 2029. From that month, gambling venues must use non-cash payments and payouts linked to the cards.
Operators will need to adapt identity checks, record-keeping and venue payment systems to the phased requirements.
