New Asgi Italia president Vanni Ferro criticised a proposed regularisation process in Italy’s 2027 budget bill for amusement machines that do not pay cash prizes. He said the draft measure would require a €1,000 payment per machine and a new compliance declaration; the state estimates it would raise about €15m.
Vanni Ferro, president of New Asgi Italia, said article 24 of the draft budget law sets out a procedure that would involve paying 1,000 euros for each machine concerned. According to Ferro, the payment would come with a fresh self-certification of conformity. He said the state expects to take in roughly 15 million euros from the measure. In his statement, Ferro warned that the new regularisation procedure for amusement machines risks loading further costs onto companies while giving them no adequate legal guarantees.
