KSA and 113 add gambling addiction to suicide-risk factsheet
The Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) and 113 have added gambling addiction as a separate topic in a factsheet on suicidality, the platform OpenOverGokken said. The factsheet reports that 31% of people with gambling addiction have had suicidal thoughts, 17% have made plans and 16% have attempted suicide. It advises care professionals to ask about suicidal thoughts in addiction treatment and consider gambling in suicide care.
The updated guidance gives care professionals gambling-specific risk figures and screening advice.
