José Guimarães files bill for Brazil betting addiction strategy
Brazilian government leader José Guimarães filed bill PL 5817/2025 in the Chamber of Deputies on 11 November, proposing a national strategy to prevent and treat gambling addiction. The proposal would require betting companies to provide reporting channels, assess users monthly and send weekly messages about loss limits; it also proposes a credit-card betting ban. The bill has no scheduled vote.
If passed, the bill would require operators to introduce user assessments, reporting channels and weekly loss-limit messages.
