GGL chair Hochgrebe makes German gambling law evaluation a priority
Christian Hochgrebe took over as chair of the GGL board on 1 July, succeeding Sandro Kirchner, and identified evaluation of Germany’s 2021 Gambling Treaty as a key priority. He said the review will assess player protection, addiction prevention, action against illegal offers and channelling; its final report is expected by the end of 2026, after which Germany’s states may consider changes.
The evaluation could inform future changes to Germany’s gambling rules and affect licensed operators across the market.
