Gambling Commission directs regulatory settlement funds to UK state budget
The Gambling Commission will transfer money from regulatory settlements with operators to the UK Consolidated Fund, the Commission said. It made the decision after a consultation launched in February, choosing not to allocate the money directly to sector projects following the introduction of a mandatory levy for gambling harm research, prevention and treatment.
Operators’ settlement payments will go to general public spending rather than directly funding gambling-sector projects.
