Frankfurt prosecutors pursue five suspects over alleged €5.86bn illegal gambling

Enforcement & compliance

Frankfurt prosecutors said an operation in the Rhine-Main area searched 11 properties and executed an arrest warrant in an investigation into alleged unlicensed online gambling. Investigators estimate wagers of about €5.86bn between July 2021 and the end of 2023, a possible €77.6m tax loss for 2024 and assets worth about €82m subject to seizure or restraint.

The case links alleged unlicensed gambling to substantial wagers, possible tax losses and restrained assets in Germany.
