Flutter said FanDuel Predicts took $119m in volume in Q3, up 102% on Q2, and had 140,000 active users in October. October volume was 271% higher than in July.
Taylor acknowledged on Nov. 4 that FanDuel's prediction markets product was "not competitive" when he first arrived in the spring. He added that the offering is now "genuinely competitive."
Taylor pointed to changes including Crypto.com now supplying its sports event contracts in place of CME Group, the joint-venture partner behind FanDuel Predicts, plus wider parlay-style combos markets and an all-in-one app.
FanDuel now owns a registered Futures Commission Merchant (FCM) and has fully entered B2B market-making, and Taylor and CFO Rob Coldrake dwelt on both moves. Because the FCM status is independent of the CME partnership, FanDuel gains flexibility, and it could potentially offer event contracts from designated contract markets (DCMs) such as Kalshi or Polymarket, which are Crypto.com's fellow DCMs.
The chief executive argued that the business has to "build a strong position now" while investing with discipline and staying able to adapt as regulation develops. Flutter has "a clear pipeline of further improvements" in prediction markets, he suggested.
Taylor was speaking on his first earnings call since replacing Peter Jackson. A Flutter spokesperson told SBC Americas that Genetski is set to take the permanent top job at FanDuel, having stepped in for Amy Howe on an interim basis.
