Nevada sportsbooks recorded $763m in wagers in March, down 11.3% from the same month a year earlier, according to the Nevada Gaming Control Board. Their $46m win was up 107%, with a 6.0% hold compared with 2.6% a year earlier; mobile wagers totalled $550.4m, down 10.1%.
Mississippi sports betting handle was $25.7 million in March, down 25% year on year, reportedly. Bets for the quarter fell below $85 million.
US online betting handle fell about 3% year on year in March, while gross gaming revenue increased as hold rates approached 9.6%, according to an industry tracker compiled by Stifel analysts. The tracker also reported online casino revenue growth of around 20% year on year in February; analysts noted that state reporting differences limit comparisons.
A Quaest poll found that 16% of respondents who were optimistic about Brazil's future cited regulation of betting and social media as a source of hope under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. That group represented 44% of respondents, making the combined issue about 7% of the full sample; the poll did not separate betting from social-media regulation. The survey interviewed 2,004 people from 30 October to 2 November.
Brazilian political analyst Jussara Soares and Arko Advice vice-president Cristiano Noronha forecast that Congress will approve Provisional Measure 1.394/2026, which bans fixed-odds betting and online games. Noronha said approval could include a transition period; the measure enters urgent procedure on 9 November while its joint committee remains uninstalled.
