FIU adds Miccosukee Casino patch to sports uniforms

Florida International University announced a jersey sponsorship with Miccosukee Casino & Resort, becoming the second Division I college to disclose a casino partnership. The patch will appear on men’s and women’s basketball and baseball jerseys; the agreement’s financial terms were not disclosed. NCAA rules effective 1 August permit Division I teams to display up to three commercial logos during regular seasons.

The agreement gives the casino branding on three university sports programmes under the NCAA’s commercial-logo rules.

France's competition authority approves Banijay's Joa acquisition without conditions

France's competition authority has approved Banijay's planned acquisition of casino operator Joa without conditions. The review, the authority's first of a gambling transaction spanning online and land-based operations, focused mainly on poker and concluded that the deal was unlikely to restrict competition. The authority said its assessment did not account for possible future legalisation of online casino games.
