Hawaii's Tourism and Gaming Working Group examined other states' lottery, online gambling and sports betting systems at its latest hearing. Officials considered Delaware's state-run approach as a possible model, while Hawaii remained in the study phase.

A Quaest poll found that 16% of respondents who were optimistic about Brazil's future cited regulation of betting and social media as a source of hope under President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva. The survey interviewed 2,004 people from 30 October to 2 November.

The editorial cited R$144 billion allegedly diverted from retail to betting over two years; a commentary challenging that figure put regulated-market gross gaming revenue at R$56.97 billion over 18 months, using Ministry of Finance figures for 2025 and the first half of 2026.
