Regulation

Colombia’s government has proposed a 19% VAT on online betting deposits in Bill 477/2026, filed by the Ministry of Finance on 29 October. The bill also proposes raising tax on lottery, raffle and betting prizes from 20% to 30%, and allowing internet service provider blocking of offshore sites. Fecoljuegos president Evert Montero Cárdenas said smaller and medium-sized operators could be hit hardest; the bill remains open to debate and amendment.

The proposals could increase operators’ tax costs and permit blocking of offshore betting sites in Colombia.
