CNIGA consults industry on potential 2028 California sports betting initiative
The California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA) is consulting selected sportsbook operators and vendors as it develops a possible 2028 online sports betting ballot initiative. Its RFI was issued on 3 June, submissions were due 1 July, and the responses were reviewed in July and August; CNIGA has not identified the companies involved.
The proposed initiative could define tribal ownership, commercial partnerships and revenue-sharing terms for California sports betting.
