Campania administrative court upholds betting shop authorisation refusal near church

Regulation

The Campania Regional Administrative Court rejected a company’s appeal against Naples police refusing a public security authorisation for a betting shop in Torre Annunziata. The premises are about 100 metres from a church, below the 250-metre minimum in a 2020 regional law; the court said the revoked licence could not preserve the previous location regime.

Operators seeking a new authorisation after revocation must meet the current minimum-distance rules, even at an existing site.
